Nursery in these years prepares children for Kindergarten and beyond. There are numerous language activities, which serve as a foundation for reading and writing. A multisensory approach stimulates education whether it is the "letter of the week", Jesus Bible time, math exploration, or science. Just to fit in everything we want to do, our morning programs are a half-hour to an hour longer than most.
The program for 3-year olds and young fours (those who will not enroll in a Kindergarten the following year) meets mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00. This program keeps in mind the need for a positive first exposure to school coupled with stimulating activities for developmental readiness and group play activities.
The four year-old Nursery class is designed for children who will be eligible for Kindergarten the following school year. The four year-old programs meet five mornings a week from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and afternoons from 12:45 to 3:15 p.m. These programs provide developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum for four-year old children, and include additional readiness activities, which will help children prepare for future Kindergarten school experiences.
Please visit the Early Childhood Enrichment page for information about an afternoon enrichment program for four year-old Nursery students who would do well with an extended day of learning and challenges.
