Chapel
Redeemer School strives to provide each child with a nurturing environment where Christian love, forgiveness and encouragement are a living and daily part of the child’s school experience. A relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is emphasized through daily religion classes and weekly chapel services. Class time includes Bible-based and life-related lessons. All children participate in weekly worship, which includes children’s sermons and hymns led by school staff and guest pastors. Prayer is also an important part of the student’s life. Modest chapel offerings help support missions and teach children how to share.
Chapel services are not designed to take the place of regular Sunday worship services. Parents are always welcome to attend the chapel services.
Art
Art is an important part of the student’s education at Redeemer School. Students in Kindergarten through sixth participate in art class one or more times per week. Students are introduced to various art media and the classical masters. They are encouraged to enter competitions such as the New Jersey Duck Stamp Contest where our students have been placed as state-wide winners.
Music
Music and the Christian school are synonymous. The program at Redeemer School includes numerous opportunities for vocal music, a formal Christmas program utilizing the rich traditions of our faith, school choirs which often assist in leading worship on Sunday mornings, and early experience with instrumentals. Spring concerts have included Christian musicals such as “Psalty” (as in Psalms) and “100% Chance of Rain”, and secular musicals such as “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”.
Spanish
Spanish is introduced to the children beginning with the four year-old preschool classes. All students learn basic everyday terms such as colors, numbers, and pleasant greetings. Older children advance to simple conversational words and phrases. Students are encouraged by their teachers to use what they have learned during the school day.
